For some reason self actualization, for me, seems to involve trying to make visible marks that describe the way I see the world around me. I try to portray the beauty of the landscape without resorting to formulas or sentimental motifs. My paintings (so far) are done with a realist approach. The visible world around me is filled with material to examine and rearrange and describe. This activity helps me to know the world around me and organise my feelings about it. To understand how to represent light and the way our eye and brain respond to information and how this effects us emotionally directly links science with philosophy . I intend to discuss this notions and others as I journey through this blog. I will also be posting my quick color sketches with commentary and maybe one or two of my larger paintings.
